WELCOME TO THE HINSDALE COUNTY MUSEUM

HOURS OF OPERATION

Open at any time through the year for special group tours.  Call the
Museum for arrangements.

Open season is generally  the end of May through the end of August.
The Museum may also be open on weekends during the off-season when
special events are held in the community, such as Christmas in Lake City
during December.

The Historical Society also sponsors the Jingle Bells walk on
Thanksgiving morning to raise money for Toys for Tots at the Sheriff's
Office.  Join us for fun, fund raising and good exercise.  The walking
distance is between two and three miles beginning at the Museum at 10
AM.  Cost is $5.00 per person, plus any other donations you may care
to give for toys for our local children.  Jingle bells and refreshments are
provided at the Museum.

Regular Hours during the Summer are:

Monday thru Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM
Sunday                        1 PM to 4:30 PM

Admission is $3.00 for adults
             $1.00 for ages 8-15
             Free for 7 and under

The museum is staffed by volunteer docents.  If you have any questions,
please don't hesitate to ask.  If they don't know, they can find out for you.

During the Summer months several tours are held to educate the public
on the history of our community.  All are walking tours and begin at the
Museum.  All tours are individually unique and of interest to all ages.
