This presentation will examine real promotional objects, devices and signs used for the advertising of goods and services in America beginning in the late 1800’s through the early 1900’s. Featured pieces will come from the speaker’s collection as well as rarely-seen holdings from the basement of the Lake City Museum. Come see the many clever and whimsical ways that stores, service providers and consumer brands attempted to reach their customers in days gone by.
